What I do...

Whether it’s a family’s first baby or their tenth, a doula can help make the birth and postpartum experience better. Today, a doula is defined as follows: a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a birthing person before, during and shortly after childbirth to help them achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.
Prenatal
Support
After beginning our relationship with a complimentary consult, as your doula I am committed to your health and well being. I am available to contact whenever needed throughout your entire pregnancy as well as after giving birth, and I will be reaching out to you regularly throughout your pregnancy to check in on you and provide you with relevant information and various tips for staying comfortable throughout your pregnancy.

I will be available to provide you with continuous support, and to answer any and all questions you may have. I will provide unbiased and non-judgmental care and education as needed throughout your pregnancy to ensure that you feel empowered and prepared for your experience. I have a network of birth professionals who can assist with any other needs you have, as well.

Birthing Guidance
Get extra personal support throughout the entirety of your birthing journey! As your doula, I am committed to offering unwavering, unbiased support to you and your family before, during, and after birth. I will stay in close contact in order to routinely check how you’re doing and offer any support as needed leading up to the big day.

During your labor and birth, I will support you both physically and mentally in order to help you achieve the birth you've envisioned. I am well trained and experienced in providing various comfort measures and positioning to help labor progress effectively.

After baby is born, I will stay with you at your place of birth for a couple of hours with a focus on caring for you - making sure you've had a meal afterwards, keeping you as comfortable as possible, assisting with breastfeeding if that is how you choose to feed your baby, and preparing you and your family for the next days ahead.

Post-partum Support
From our initial meeting all the way through your pregnancy and birth, I take the time to get to know you, your family, your concerns, and your needs. I’m always available to contact by phone/email and will do everything possible to ensure that your postpartum experience is as calm and positive as possible.

After your birth, I will come visit you in your home within that first week to check in on you, help to answer any questions and troubleshoot any issues you may be having, and to also help you decompress and process your birthing experience.

In addition to your at-home postpartum visit, I will also continue to stay on-call for you for 12 weeks postpartum in case of any needs that may arise for you or baby. I will continue to reach out regularly to check in on you and your family; my job isn't done just because baby is here now, I'm not going anywhere for a while! I also have a network of professionals to assist you & baby with any needs you may have such as lactation support, pelvic floor therapists, mental health specialists and more.
